I tried out Liqui.io Cryptocurrency Exchange and I want to tell others my experience and remind them they should NEVER trade there.
Do yourself a favor. Stick with trusted sites like Bittrex for your cryptocurrency trading.
I became leery of the split orders early on, after all there is a premium for withdrawing Ethereum, but I was leery because I was arbitraging. This means that you have to wait to withdraw one time or pay the fee two times, so the incentive as a trader is to wait, but you don’t have time to wait with arbitrage.
This is not the reason I would recommend NEVER trading at Liqui.io however. In fact, I went back.
I now question the low hanging fruit of Eth prices on the exchange, but then again, that’s why I moved in for the arbitrage. What this means is I would transfer in Bitcoin to buy Ethereum because it was cheaper than other exchanges and then I would go sell at the higher price at the other cryptocurrency exchange. Time is of essence and it’s risky, but there was a reason I was doing it. After all, this is supposed to be a decentralized world, not with these guys.

The reason I will not trade there is not because they allow someone to buy a small amount of tokens (MELONPORT, MLN) as I was buying with my “dust”, but then when I had had it with the entire exchange, they won’t let me withdraw it, so that’s where they acquire dust, no big, that’s not why I will never trade there again. They can have the dust.
The reason I will never trade there again and am giving Liqui.io a horrible review is because of what happened when I was trying to arbitrage.
I waited until the high of the night and the high of Ethereum in general after successfully buying Ethereum, it kept going up and then I set the sell order, was checking Bittrex price that just kept going up, so then I tried to withdraw my Ethereum to move to Bittrex. But no…they didn’t allow it. Imagine that.
I wasn’t the only one experiencing this, I saw in the chat box someone else having problem moving the eth. He was asking for support to help him. Now I know why.
It sat for over 2 hours “in progress” and when I asked what was going on in chat, they censored me and banned me, so they are not a free speech sort of exchange either. It’s just a shady exchange all the way around.
So the trade finally went through, but only after the price came off at Bittrex and plummeted far below where I bought in at Liqui.io, meaning I would have done excellent in the trade had it gone through, but no….it sat “in progress” for over 2 hours. There was nothing I could do but watch Ethereum plummet.
So I asked these dicks for an explanation in advance of writing this review just what the hell happened and evidence to support this scam, as I have to question if they got some sort of fractional reserve tokenization going on there, and this is what they came back with.

    That’s not how you do arbitrage! You must have balances in the two exchanges and buy and sell instantly. It’s a riskless trade. It doesn’t matter later if the transfer takes long. If you would have done it right you would have made a profit. That is why you’re a prick on blaming your incompetence to the exchange.

      I’ll approve that comment because you are entitled to that stance but it’s not really a fundamental issue of knowing how to arbitrage, it’s the principle of decentralization and they had my account on lockdown. I’m not tying up my funds in an exchange that puts my account on lock down. Doesn’t mean I would ever trade at this exchange again based on your comment, but I can live with what you are saying.

    I have to agree that a lot of factors could happen, but this is a bad example of arbitrage. I don’t disagree with Liqui for flagging an account that shows signs of being compromised (moving lots of money out suddenly and at once). They’re being proactive, but you weren’t in your arbitrage.

      I’ll approve that comment because it just goes to prove how worthless LIQUI is and how your argument just goes out the window. Here’s why. If the idiot at LIQUI would have only realized that there were flows coming in not just out, then the dumbass could have saved being proactive for another situation instead of ruining the trade. Your argument has no standing here.

    For over one week now, I have been unable to login to my account.

    Every time I login with my email address and password I get this message:

    “For your security, we have emailed you a one-time authentication code. Please enter this code below to proceed.”

    I never receive an email though. I have been unable to login for a week and nobody is responding to my multiple requests. I sent a ticket in last week and I got this response:

    Weird things.Could you please try again? Then write to me please.

    I got that email, so apparently it is not an issue with my email, but a problem on their end. I have sent over 5 emails this week, and I NEED TO GET INTO MY ACCOUNT. Extremely poor customer service, stay away from this company. If anyone has any advice on who I can file a complaint with I would appreciate it. This has cost me a LOT of money because I can not access my account and sell/purchase anything.

      I have the exact same problem. Can you tell me if they replied and solved the problem?

      Since 20 days I don´t get any answer to my ticket and I can´t login to my account since 21 days.

      Just like you I get the message: “For your security, we have emailed you a one-time authentication code. Please enter this code below to proceed.”

      I never got the E-Mail with the code. Just like you I have coins in my account and very concerned and also very disappointed about the service!

      they didn’t resolve jack shit. they lost a customer for life. they screwed up a trade bigtime. others will hear about this long and far. they will learn by the numbers.

    My account has been locked and 2FA code does not work anymore. I wrote to them and even mentioned the amount of coin I have on Liqui Exchange. However, they said the number of coin I told them is incorrect. It is unacceptable. I have the Coinigy account and have been trading. The coin appears on Coinigy clearly and how can that go wrong? They have decided to call me a hacker and closed the customer service ticket. I have all the coins on my account that I can’t access anymore. Liquid is a big scam that everyone should avoid. The customer service is rude too.

    If you cant login to liqui, use your user name, NOT your email. One of the only sites that does that. Annoying!

    Beware of Liqui! they held my money almost 18 days ago and they provided me a fake TxID. I opened a ticket, I reported the withdraw as incorrect, I emailed them, tried to notify them several times on Twitter. Finally, today I posted this issue on their chatbox and I have been banned by one of their operators. At this point, there are 0 chances that I will see my money back, approximately $5500 at today value. At this point, I am posting it on all possible channels with pics and everything else and will consider registering a site to expose this. I have been scammed and will also fill a complaint to police and will try to find a lawyer and see what can be done and if they can be tracked in Ukraine.
